Bert S. Patten, a goldsmith, engraver, and watchmaker, founded Patten's Jewelers in 1919. Paul Patten joined his father in 1936. Janet Patten Thompson joined Patten's Jewelers in 1937. Ed Thompson, her husband, contributed to the business from 1968 until his death in 1987.
Originally located at 306 East State Street next to the now-gone Strand Theatre, Patten's relocated in 1971 to "the little blue house at 188 Pleasant Grove Road" in the village of Cayuga Heights with our own parking lot!
Presently owned by Janet Patten Thompson's daughter, Judith Patten Poss, Patten's Jewelers is a full service jewelry store offering fine quality merchandise in gold, silver and platinum, loose diamonds, estate jewelry, vintage watches and watch repairs, giftware, custom designs and repairs in a pleasant, unhurried atmosphere.
Patten's Jewelers continues into the future using the technology of today while retaining the service and values that have endeared us to our neighbors for generations. We are grateful to the residents of Ithaca and Tompkins County who have supported us for eighty-eight years. We look forward to sharing all that makes us unique with those who desire something unique.
